Council community director Janice Summerhayes said the three existing vacant positions had been filled, bringing the total number of ‘rangers’ to nine.
“The rangers are professional regulatory officers and parking is one component of their role, which also includes other local government regulatory activities such as animal control compliance, abandoned vehicles, littering, footpath ordinances and other community based local government activities as required,” she said.
“The rangers will join a multi skilled experienced team of six professional regulatory officers.”
Council stated they did not specifically employ ‘parking inspectors/officers’.
