Department of Education executive director Geoff Pellizzer said public schools from across the Riverina were thrilled with the stories of success they are hearing from their students.
Kooringal High School student Tiana Breust, was ranked third in the state in the entertainment industries examination.
At least 29 Riverina public schools had students earning a top band result, including Kooringal and Wagga high schools.
Other schools to have achieved this distinction include Junee High, Coolamon Central, Albury High, Ardlethan Central, Barellan Central, Coleambally Central, Deniliquin High, Griffith High, Gundagai High, Hay War Memorial High, Lockhart Central, Narrandera High, Temora High, Tumbarumba High, Tumut High, Wade High and Young High schools.
Wagga Christian College student Hannah-Grace Spreitzer topped the state in the music one course, while Andrea DeWaal of Wade High School in Griffith took the same honour in German beginners.
Further afield, Temora High School’s Griffin Pinney was eighth in the state in physics.
“There are some wonderful results that will open doors and enable the graduates to fulfill their aspirations,” Mr Pellizzer said.
“It is again reassuring that these outstanding results are spread across a wide spectrum of Riverina public schools – large and small – and across a broad range of subjects.”
