It comes after a Fairfax Media analysis revealed the share of university students commencing Education degrees had plunged to its lowest level in at least 27 years.
But head of campus Miriam Dayhew said enrollments remained healthy at Wagga, despite the notable decrease at other institutions.
“CSU enrollments remain strong,” Ms Dayhew said. “Today’s graduation ceremony was a great show of strength.”
One graduate from the education faculty said spoke on behalf of her fellow alumni.
Andrea McAdam was one of more than 150 graduates from the Schools of Education; Teacher Education; Indigenous Australian Studies; and Information Studies to be awarded postgraduate and undergraduate degrees on Monday morning.
Ms McAdam said it had been a long, hard and sometimes gruelling adventure.
“We have all lived breathed and wept on the expedition to our respective qualifications,” Ms said. “It has been hard … but we made it.”
Ms McAdam asked family and friends to forgive students for the many hours spent studying instead of with them.
“We are truly grateful,” she said. “Next time we will support you.”
