Batlow man on the run after threatening man with axe

Police from Cootamundra Local Area Command are searching for a man who assaulted and threatened another man with an axe on Wednesday.

The incident happened about 7.30am on Wednesday after an argument between two men, aged 41 and 47, at a home in Batlow.

Police were told the younger man assaulted the older man before threatening him with an axe.

The younger man is now believed to be on the run with a woman and a baby.

The two men are related to each other.

The 41-year-old man is believed to be travelling in a white 1993 Toyota Corolla with a NSW registration BLY-58Y.

He is described as Caucasian appearance, 170-175cm tall with a medium-to-solid build, brown hair and brown eyes.

Police are asking anyone who sees the man to call 000 or CrimeStoppers.
