Zac Robinson, of Glenfield Park, pleaded guilty to one count of common assault in Wagga Local Court on Wednesday.
According to documents tendered to the court, Robinson punched the victim in the face after first exchanging words with the event’s organiser on September 23.
Robinson’s solicitor, John Kennedy, told the court his client hadn’t heard the victim identify himself as the manager and didn’t realise there was a private function due to a lack of signage.
“He realised he made a grave error in judgement and acted impulsively,” he said.
Mr Kennedy said Robinson had contacted the manager after the incident and apologised for his actions.
He was sentenced to a nine month good behaviour bond.
