Despite the warm weather and a hot, blustery wind, the showpiece event attracted a gate of $30,995.
It was up more than $4000 on last year’s grand final, on a wet day at Robertson Oval, and was the first time since 2013 that the figure for grand final day had topped $30,000.
“It was terrific,” Riverina League president Rob Ash said on Saturday.
“There were families who could travel from a fair way away and go home tomorrow (Sunday) and clubs can have functions tonight and go again tomorrow if they like.
“It was a bit of a rough day but the netball and the football was outstanding.
“And the ground is absolutely outstanding. It couldn’t have gone better.”
Ash reiterated that last year’s move to Wagga was purely for player safety reasons with Narrandera deemed unsafe in patches.
