The less fancied side downed White 4-3 at Jubilee Park on Saturday.
Blue sharp shooter and player of the game Ashleigh Yan was the star of the day.
Having already scored 19 goals during the season, Yan propelling her side to victory with a blistering hat-trick.
With scores tied, three minutes remaining, and the tension around the ground through the roof, Yan found an opening and fired the ball into goal to secure the premiership.
Captain Maree Beresford was over the moon with her star forward.
“She was big in that circle whenever she got the ball,” she said.
“She was firing away at goal and luckily for us, most of those shots worked out.”
Beresford was also thrilled with the guts her side showed in the heat of battle.
“The determination of the girls was fantastic,” she said.
“We were mindful that it was our last game of the season and wanted to play well, so we all went hard and didn’t stop until those goals went in.
“I also think just having the belief that we could do it really helped us get over the line.”
Beresford said her side’s defensive effort was also key.
“We showed the ability to shut down their attack when we needed to,” she said.
“We didn’t let them run very far with the ball at all.”
Blue drew first blood through Yan, but White was quick to respond.
The teams then alternated goals from there, Blue always the team to jump out in front and White the team to tie the score once again.
But it was Yan who had the final say with her last-minute winner.
Veteran Beresford was also in fine form for Blue, while Lauren Jolliffe wreaked havoc out wide throughout the day.
Just as she had a week ago, Beresford stressed just how far her group had come from the beginning of the season.
“It really did take some time for us to get things rolling,” she said.
“When we first got together at the start of the year it was quite hard.
“But in the final everyone was playing well together and supporting each other.”
Beresford was a part of the Royals team which won last year’s premiership, before the club split the team in half in order to enter two teams in the first-grade competition.
On the other side of the coin, minor premiers White won their way straight through the final after downing Blue in a penalty shootout in the qualifying final.
It was a result which forced the underdog side to take the long road to the final.
But it did not stop them from winning when it truly mattered.
