Despite an unnerving downpour on Saturday morning, spring was kind to this year’s meet.
While Ms Maguire said it was a love of fashion that brought her to the city, others said it was the chance for uni students and friends to dress up and have a good time.
Murrumbidgee Turf Club chief executive Scott Sanbrook said this year’s crowd was close to record breaking.
“It’s up there with the all-time highs,” Mr Sanbrook said.
“It goes to prove it’s as popular as it’s ever been.”
Mr Sanbrook said the Ag Races meet was fast growing and second only to the MTC’s Gold Cup.
“I think it’s wonderful for Wagga to put on an event such as this,” he said.
“It’s a real draw card for the city.”
