The Roads and Maritime Service (RSM) reported that traffic in both directions between Batlow and Tumbarumba is being affected, but the road is open.
The grader is expected to remain working on the road all day, as the snow eases.
The RMS is recommending drivers exercise caution and reduce speed in the area.
A spokesman for the Bureau of Meterology said the cold weather that has brought snow to the area is expected to improve as the day goes on.
“The snow level will move up backs about 1000 metres as the day goes on,” he said.
He said it was possible there could be fresh falls on Friday and the bureau would continue to issue updates.
