The Ag College five-eighth and Leeton inside centre Noa Rabici were named joint winners of the competition’s best and fairest award on Saturday.
Duffy had a two point lead going into the final round but failed to gain a point in Aggies win over Tumut while Rabici polled two in the win over Wagga City.
In a tight race the pair finished one point clear of Tumut’s Josef Glamuzina and Waratahs flanker Sam Bunny.
Leeton halfback Freddy Tupou was a further two points behind.
Duffy has been a revelation since moving from the centres this season and said the best and fairest nod is another boost for his confidence in the role.
“I think it is a bit of encouragement that I am doing to right things and a bit of encouragement to the people around the Ag College community for providing such a great environment there for rugby,” Duffy said.
The medal capped off a big day for Rabici who struggled with a hamstring injury in the win over Waratahs.
He was delighted to take out the award.
“I did not expect this medal,” Rabici said.
Rabici has made a big impact in his first season with the Phantoms, but may not be in the region for too much longer as he will join National Rugby Championship team Sydney Rays for the upcoming season on Tuesday.
“I’m so excited to join the boys as it is a good opportunity,” he said.
