Their closest rivals continue to have the wood over the Boiled Lollies, but coach Michael Kanck was not too disappointed with the effort.
“I’m proud of the guys and we knew it was going to be a challenge,” Kanck said.
“We continuous made the same mistake and Waratahs pounced on that.
“We didn’t get our defensive structures right and we paid the price for it.”
Kanck returned to the coaching role late in the pre-season, coming in to replace last season’s coach Nathan Honeyman at short notice.
Despite enjoying another good season, he’s looking for someone else to take over the reins.
“I've been coaching for a lot of years with Wagga City Rugby Clunb, officially and unofficially, and while I will also still be involved anyone who is interested can put their hand up,” he said.
