The success of Neslo Arcade can be pinpointed to one decision made in the early 50s.
Lancet (Larry) Olsen decided to move his engineering business to Baylis Street despite warning from his peers.
The moved turned out to be an excellent decision with Larry’s grandsons, Kevin and Jim, owning and managing the arcade today – almost 70 years later.
“They told him he was mad moving up there when he did,” Mr Olsen said.
“We’re very proud of our pop’s foresight in purchasing property in Baylis Street and establishing the arcade.”
I'm very proud to know the arcade has come through the family. We've found a niche and we have something different.
- Kevin Olsen, Nelso Arcade owner
Kevin has been involved with the arcade for the past 15 years while Jim has been involved for more than 50 years.

While their grandfathers engineering business is gone, it was located where the Marketplace is today, the family feel of the arcade shines through today.
“It’s part of the fabric of our family,” Mr Olsen said.
Even the name is close to the families heart.
It’s Olsen spelt backwards.
Larry’s wife, Sarah, came up with the name.
There are no plans to change this impressive family business with both Kevin and Jim planing on keeping the arcade in the family for years to come.
The arcade has been part of Wagga retail fabric since it was established and continues to be a popular shopping spot.
