Representing himself in Wagga Local Court this week, Christoper Allen Pendrick said since getting out of jail things had slowly been getting back on track.
“Things are starting to go well so hopefully you can give me a chance to keep things going,” Pendrick said.
Magistrate Erin Kennedy told the 31-year-old he needed to face up to himself.
“Nothing is going to wake you up if that time in custody didn’t,” Ms Kennedy said.
“Don’t fool yourself in relation to the drug use, you can't control it.”
Pendrick was fined $500 after he was found with three bags of a crystal substance believed to be 0.51 grams of methamphetamine.
He was sentenced to a total of 200 hours for knowingly being carried in a stolen conveyance, intimidation with intent and contravene prohibition specified in an order.
