From a pop-up planetarium, to kitchen chemistry, stargazing and Indigenous science, this year’s Riverina Science Festival is set to be the biggest yet.
For those who read last fortnight’s column you will be aware of some of our events including the National Indigenous Science Education Program Community Day to be held at the Tolland Community and Sky Stories, a family astronomy evening.
Some exciting new events have been announced – the Riverina Science Hub, through funding from Inspiring Australia, supports Nerd Nite Wagga, held at the Union Hotel on Thursday, August 17, from 7.30pm.
Come and hear three brainy presenters including local presenters, Nerd boss, Peter Casey and executive oOfficer of Eastern Riverina Arts, Scott Howie, as well as Melbourne based extreme meteorologist Dean Narramore.
Ever since Dean can remember, he has had a keen interest and fascination with all things weather and especially severe weather. He came to understand the importance of rain was a vital part of life as he grew up in Mildura, increasing his passion for weather and meteorology, as he grew older.
If you want to learn, more about storm chasing across tornado alley book your tickets at wagga.nerdnite.com.
