An overwhelming amount of people have expressed their support for the state government to fully fund the Volunteer Rescue Association (VRA).

In a Daily Advertiser poll, 93 per cent of respondents agreed that the VRA should indeed be fully funded by the state government.

It comes after the Wagga Rescue Squad was donated with a new Holden Colorado to help them better respond to serious crashes.

The rescue squad only receives about $3600 in government grants and are left to fundraise more than $8000 throughout the year to meet their other overhead costs.
