Cunningham has been sidelined since May when he suffered a foot injury in Sydney’s round nine win over St Kilda at Etihad Stadium.
After a couple of false starts recently, Cunningham will finally get back on the paddock on Saturday when he makes his return via the Swans’ reserves in the North Eastern Australian Football League (NEAFL) in Brisbane.
“I’ll play limited game time on Saturday just to build back into it,” Cunningham said.
With the Swans sixth on the AFL ladder a month out from finals, Cunningham has his sights set on a quick return.
“Absolutely, it’s pretty cliche but I’m just concentrating on this week first,” he said.
“Hopefully I can play good enough and put my hand up quickly. I’m confident in my fitness to be able to come in and play a role in the seniors pretty quickly.”
Cunningham has been sidelined for 10 weeks.
