With Brothers gripped in a dogfight to secure a spot in the finals, Little turned on the magic to lead the Brethren to the landslide victory.

The dynamic playmaker scored four of the nine Brothers tries – and later declared the Brethren would not be pushover for any team.

Heading into a critical clash with Young at Alfred Oval next Sunday, Little warned the second-placed Cherrypickers to be on their guard.

“Like I tell the boys every week, we’re a different side now and Young and the other teams will have to respect us,” Little said.

“We’re not going there (Alfred Oval) to get a flogging.”

Inspired by Little, Brothers repelled the best Cootamundra could muster before blasting the Bulldogs off the paddock.

In the process, Brothers racked up four wins on the trot for the first time since 2010 and also retained a hold on fifth place.

Amid the celebrations, Little revealed he had been a personal mission to ensure the Brethren did not slip up against battling Cootamundra.

“We were very scrappy in the first 10-15 (minutes) and I did take it on myself to get us into the game,” Little said.

“We needed to win.”

After getting Brothers off to a flyer with a try in the fifth minute, Little unleashed his dazzling footwork and speed to put the brakes on a Cootamundra revival.

Stung by Bulldogs tries to Harrison Howse (10th minute) and Troy Hughes (22nd), Brothers were up only 12-8 before Little scored two superb tries in three minutes.

From 18 metres out, Little spun through three tackles to score in the 27th minute before another piece of mastery got him across again three minutes later.

By the time Aaron Wynne (34th minute) and Ed Ansell (39th) had scored the Brethren were out to a 34-8 advantage and safely home.

Little, however, was not finished and he danced his way over for his fourth try in the 55th minute.

Rather than hog the limelight, Little shared the glory.

“We’re a surprising team and I think a lot of teams will get a big shock playing against us,” Little said.

“The next three weeks are very important for us.”

Little says Terry Westblade’s coaching has helped transform the team from battlers to contenders.

“(Westblade has given) belief more than anything else,” Little said,

“He’s a player’s coach ... gets the best out of players.”

It was another tortuous day for Cootamundra, but they did not lie down.

The Bulldogs stuck with Brothers for nearly 30 minutes but lightning Little eventually had their measure.
