Students made a gold coin donation in return for being able to wear beanies, scarves and footy socks, with the aim of raising money for a schoolmate who is receiving cancer treatment.
Year 10 student Jayden Maloney is currently receiving treatment in Sydney for bone cancer in his knee.
About $1000 was raised for Jayden, who will undergo two lengthy rounds of chemotherapy treatments and a knee replacement.
“There has been a really strong response. The students have been taking a bucket from classroom to classroom, taking donations,” deputy principal Tania Maddison said on Wednesday.
