O’Sullivan won’t run out onto Alfred Park to tackle the Cherrypickers due to a wedding.
With his usual centre Mitch Bennett also out with a foot injury, Bulls captain-coach Nick Skinner has been left to do plenty of reshuffling to his back line.
Luke McBeath comes off the bench and in the centres to join Thomas Besgrove, who scored a double will filling in for Bennett last week.
However Jesse Greenway comes back onto the wing after missing the win over Cootamundra last week with Jordan Little coming out.
Skinner believes the loss of O’Sullivan will be a blow for the ladder leaders taking on the third placed Cherrypickers.
“It is a big loss for us, he’s been really good for us this year as he was last year, but I think we can work around it,” Skinner said.
“We’ve got some good players there who can do a job.”
With the back line changes, Skinner believes getting on top in the forwards will be key.
Young have lost twice this season, to fellow top five teams Gundagai and Albury, but they comfortably sit in third place.
However they’ve only beaten one top five team, after taking a narrow win over Tumut, so the clash with the Bulls shapes as a real indication if they can be a premiership force this season.
While aware of how big the game is, Cherrypickers captain-coach James Woolford isn’t out to prove anything to any of their rivals.
“It is a massive test for us but we don’t need to prove anything to anyone else,” Woolford said.
“We only need to prove something to ourselves and do ourselves a favour by playing well.
“It is all about us this week, we aren’t going out to impress anyone, any club or give the comp a shake up, we just want everyone to know we are there.”
Coming off a big win against Kangaroos following off two byes, Woolford believes the timing is right to host Southcity.
“We are probably getting them at a good time too,” he said.
“Last weekend we thought we played really well but there are things we can improve on and are looking to do that this week.”
While the Bulls have made some changed Woolford has named his strongest team of the year.
However Warren Aiken and Will Scott are under injury clouds.
“We are giving everyone right up until the last minute as obviously it’s a big game for us,” Woolford said.
“We need all hands on deck if possible.”
