Firstly, an article that appeared in the Wagga Advertiser Wednesday August 27, 1879, page 4, titled “Visit to the Wagga Wagga Cemetery”, gives an account of the cemetery at that time. In the latter part of the piece mention is made of two large and fine monuments. The first being the Cox (Mangoplah family) monument in the Catholic section and the second being Mrs A G Jones’s memorial in the Episcopalian section of the cemetery. (Belmore House, Kincaid Street – the first Mrs A G Jones).

A further article on page 2 dated December 31, 1887, titled “Death of Mr A G Jones” makes mention of his sudden passing and that following his funeral he would be interned in the family vault within the Church of England portion of the cemetery.

So today when visiting the cemetery to repair a family member’s headstone, I took special note that both the Cox and the unnamed monument are of about the same height and both stand very prominent within the cemetery. Additionally the mystery plot is located in the C of E section. I did walk around and looked at other prominent monuments within the C of E portion to determine if any of them were in fact the Jones monument, but I saw none. Therefore, until the Jones plot is identified as being elsewhere, I believe the mystery plot is likely to be that of A G Jones and family – further research may help confirm this theory. 

In case you are unaware, Mr Auber George Jones was one of Wagga’s most important residents.

He, together with Mr Thomas Darlow, established the Wagga Advertiser.

He contributed to the new public school in Gurwood Street plus many other important projects and issues of the time.

His house, Belmore House, was together with the Criterion Hotel (formerly fronting Fitzmarice Street and located on the North side of Romanos) considered to be the most notable brick structures in western NSW.

I am very disappointed with  Donald Trump, I feel he might be just another American warmonger like the neocons before him. Why did he bomb Syria? Assad is the good guy, he’s on our side.

He stands for civilization, while all those opposed for him stand for barbarism and a return to the Dark Ages. The Christians of Syria are the most enthusiastic supporters of the Assad regime, because they know under the Assad regime Christians in Syria and other minorities live in relative freedom.

Responsibility for the so-called atrocities committed by the Syrian army rests entirely with the US and British Governments for arming the rebels and keeping the war going. The so-called Syrian rebels are actually nothing but Islamic terrorists. 

There are no Christians or Jews in Saudi Arabia because the Muslims killed them all.   

Did Trump take a bible with him into Saudi Arabia? No, because he is not allowed. Did he ask the wealthy Saudis to take a few hundred thousand Muslim refugees? No, because they wouldn’t.

The refugees fleeing Syria and Iraq have to depend on the good graces of the much less wealthy but much more humanitarian Lebanese and Jordanians, whose countries are already pushed to breaking point. The Saudis will use the arms the Americans sell them to commit more atrocities in the civil war in Yemen.

It is the Saudis who are financing the building of mosques and Islamic schools all over the Western world. It is the Saudis who are promoting fundamentalist Sunni Islam everywhere.

So why is Trump making an enemy out of Iran and "friends" out of the barbaric Saudis?
