“On February 16 I was asked to answer questions in relation an alleged conflict of interest,” Mr Eldridge wrote.
“I answered the questions honestly. Nothing I have done can be considered “serious misconduct”.
“To be transparent to the community, in good faith I agreed to step aside to allow an independent examiner to review the matter, and I agreed to remain silent while that process was carried out.
Mr Eldridge wrote that he believed he had not been treated within “a natural justice framework”, and a number of procedural rules and sections of the (council) code of conduct and Office of Local Government guidelines had been ignored by the process.
“I was denied a meeting with councillors to put my side forward,” Mr Eldridge wrote.
“Please note I will not be commenting further due to legal action pending.”
