In bright signs for the school’s Carroll Cup prospects in years to come, TRAC ended the domination of Mater Dei and Kildare in fine style, winning 10.11 (71) to 7.3 (45) at Robertson Oval.
Little separated two teams early before a three goals to one in the second term gave TRAC a handy 17-point advantage.
Kildare closed hard in the third term to get within a goal but TRAC finished full of running to kick away in the final term.
TRAC coach Michael Glanvill was pleased to see the school’s hard work with their AFL program get some results.
“It’s very pleasing for the school,” Glanvill said.
“We do a fair bit of work on our AFL so to get some reward is pleasing.
“They are a really good, coach-able group of kids.”
Matt Hamblin, Nahom Fitzgerald-Holmes and Billy Glanvill all played crucial roles in the win for TRAC, while Riley Browning and Darcy Irvine were best for Kildare.
