Mark Cecil Dowe, 35, was placed on an 18-month good behaviour bond in Wagga Local Court on Wednesday after pleading guilty to intimidation.
Dowe and his victim had a falling out after which Dowe went to a house where the victim was with friends on September 11 last year.
The victim needed to use a walking frame after a car crash.
According to police facts tendered to the court, an angry Dowe threw the walking frame across the room and said to the man: “If you don’t leave (a woman) alone I am going to get you and get other people to get you”.
Police said the man was left shaking by the threat.
Dowe wrote a letter to the magistrate apologising for his actions.
His solicitor, David Barron, also told magistrate Michael Crompton that while his client did not agree with all the police facts in the case he agreed with the elements of the charge. “He thought he was protecting someone, but he went the wrong way about it,” Mr Barron said.
