In the top-of-the-table men’s clash at Jubilee Park on Saturday, Lake Albert took the points in CSU captain Nick Fahey’s 100th division 1 match.

The game was a very even contest, and Lake won 1-0.

CSU missed Max Hanrahan and Hugo Hartley and Lake missed Brendan Pottie. Without Hartley, CSU’s defence was under pressure.

Lake Albert’s Tim Jenkins scored in his second division one game, slotting it wide of CSU keeper Scott Sippel.

CSU forwards had numerous chances on goal early on, but were unable to beat Lake keeper Benson Williams in the circle with good support from veteran Paul Oakman and Rhys McManus.

Bevan Swaffield was CSU’s best player and McManus and Oakman were Lake Albert’s best.

Royals and Harlequins enjoyed the bye.

In round eight, Lake Albert takes on Royals and CSU plays Harlequins.
