A busy day again. Several gas shells came over during: the night with the result we had 38 cases through, all mustard gas, which he is specialising in, and it is very successful in putting men temporarily out of action. Wounded came through in a steady flow, except in the afternoon, when we had an in rush of cases from a bomb dropped from an aeroplane. Seven Fritzes came over and dropped about 5 bombs, one landing less than 100 yards from our position, another a few hundred yards down the street, and this fell amongst a body of men outside one of our Comforts Funds places.
Eighteen were killed outright and 26 were rushed up to us. Some with legs off, the majority being fearfully mangled, altogether 57 casualties came from the one bomb. He was also active with his shelling, a lot of casualties being sustained in Ypres. The weather still very fine so expect another stunt in a few days, but expect to be relieved before then. Three more bearers wounded to-day.
