A fortnight after being thumped 50-6 by Tumut, the Wagga club put in another ordinary effort in front of their home fans.
Neck and neck with the Cherrypickers for the first 20 minutes, the Brethren quickly fell off the pace to slip to eighth on the Group Nine ladder.
Captain-coach Ben Black was livid with his team's performance and gave the team a 15-minute dressing down after the siren.
Black then ran out of words, refusing an interview with The Daily Advertiser, as he was left to deal with the wash up of a third big loss to start the season.
Brothers were humbled 36-12 by Albury on the border before the loss to Tumut.
They hit back with a 42-16 win over Cootamundra last week before falling back into bad habits.
Centre Peter Little believes the team's “terrible” attitude is what is hurting them most.
“It is definitely an attitude thing and it comes back to our training,” Little said.
“Like Blacky said we are rarely getting anyone to training, we all say we are going to go to training then we don’t get anyone there.”
Little was among the long list of signings that offered the club hope of a revival this season, but Sunday proved they are a long way off the pace.
“I think we think things are just going to happen,” he said.
“We signed a few good players and people think we are going to be top four, but we have to earn it.
“We haven’t earned it yet and have a long way to go.”
Little thought the team got frustrated after failing to put any points on the board in the first 20 minutes.
They then didn’t respond when the Cherrypickers scored three quick tries in the first half.
“The forwards did their job really well in that first 20 and I think they got frustrated as we weren’t scoring points,” Little said.
“When your forward pack goes forward really well for you and you get no points from it I think it frustrates a lot of people.
“That's what happened.
“We played good for 20 minutes, didn’t score any tries and credit to Young they defended really well.
“Our forwards started getting a little tired, Young got the ball down on our line, scored a try had their heads up while our boys had their heads down."
Brothers will look to rebound in a Wagga derby with Kangaroos on Saturday.
