Midnight Obsession strapper Melissa Kennedy said a lot of work went into the role.
“We brush them, walk them, wash them, everything that gets the horses ready to go to the races,” she said.
Mrs Kennedy said working away from the spotlight suited her down to the ground.
“We’re the forgotten people but I get the satisfaction still,” she said.
“I just love my horses.
“I’ve been with horses all my life since I was a little kid.”
The dedicated strapper said the role had allowed her to get to know her horse extremely well.
“She’s a bit temperamental, there’s a bit of personality there,” she said.
“But she’s very quiet on race days.”
