Carlie Dickinson said there was never any “noise or ruckus” at the rehab home, which she lived down the street from for three years.
“You wouldn’t know it was there,” Ms Dickinson said.
“I saw the comments (on Facebook) about syringes and alcohol lying around, but that wasn’t my experience.”
The developers of the Riverina Recovery House are making a third attempt at getting their project off the ground after their Lake Albert plans drew fierce community backlash and council voted against the Gurwood Street location last year.
“I live near a pub now,” Ms Dickinson said. “Drunk people are far more offensive at 3am. I rather live near people in treatment trying to improve their lives.”
