Friday 5 May, 6pm: Trevor Barr, Emeritus Professor at Swinburne University of Technology, launches his novel Grand Intentions, an insightful and realistic story inspired by the Australian telecommunications industry.
The story centres on a fictional telecommunications carrier called Telco One, a corporation undergoing full privatisation at a time of intense market place competition – with a new brand of senior managers imported from the United States.
Professor Barr is a veteran of the Australian telecommunications landscape and witnessed the real-life changes explored in the book, inspired by the privatisation of Telstra between 1991 and 2010.
Friday 12 May, 6pm: Tricia Stringer, one of Australia's best-known award winning rural romance authors, launches Jewel in the North, the final book in the bestselling Flinders Range series.
Tricia has published seven best-selling books and is a Romance Writers’ of Australia RUBY award winner.
Friday 19 May, 7pm: One Book One Wagga Gala Dinner with Liane Moriarty. Liane is a multiple New York Times bestseller and award winning novelist. The event will be held at the Mirage Room Wagga Wagga RSL and tickets are $55 per person.
Truly Madly Guilty won the 2016 Goodreads Choice Awards for Best Fiction, and has been shortlisted for the Australian Indie Book Awards.
Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon have an option on the film rights to Truly Madly Guilty, following their successful adaption of Liane’s earlier novel Big Little Lies, which premiered on HBO in February 2017.
Friday 26 May, 5:30pm: Leonard Janiszewski will launch Greek Cafes, a book he co-created with photographer Effy Alexakis. Together they have been researching the Greek-Australian experience since 1982.
Their latest book, Greek Cafes & Milk Bars of Australia, has seen Leonard touring around the country, sharing research and memories with audiences, many of whom can still remember when every country town boasted a Greek cafe or milk bar, open all hours, seven days a week. Also, rest assured, Lex Marinos' grandfather's famous local Bridge Cafe is featured in the publication.
