After winning in November, Tiggerlong Daisy resumed with a strong win at Wagga last week and has drawn to start from box six in the Simaroo Lodge Stakes (320m).
Her two wins have come from similiar starting points, but Ward doesn’t think she can repeat the dose again.
“I’m not confident from the box,” Ward said.
“She’s never drawn a box and I just think it is a lot better class of dog this week than what is was last week.
“With no improvement on the box she will have her work cut out.
“I hope she can ping the lids and get in front as she will have to.”
Ward rated littermate Tiggerlong Zorro as the biggest threat.
He is also concerned about how she will perform second up from a break.
“The test is always the second start back,” Ward said.
“They are keen and put everything into the first one and the second one will tell you if it took a lot out of them.”
Ward also has Sixteen Monkeys set to race in The Appliance Man Stakes (320m).
Sixteen Monkeys finished runner-up to Tranquil Pop last time out and they meet again.
This time around Tranquil Pop has all the favours after drawing box one while Sixteen Monkeys will start from box four.
Ward isn’t expecting to come out on top.
“I got to the lead last week against him when he had the four box, but he goes from a bad box to a perfect box,” Ward said. “He ran me down and I’ve got no excuses.
“If he leads he wins, it’s as simple as that.”
