Principal, Mr Paul Humble, said the college’s distinctive difference was its holistic focus on producing motivated, empathetic, compassionate, culturally literate and balanced young men and women.
“It is absolutely essential that students be afforded the full range of opportunities to excel in all areas of academia, sport and co-curricular programs,” he said. “The beginning of secondary school is such an important time in the lives of young people as they begin to develop into the adults they will become.”
The Riverina Anglican College offers a wide range of programs to complement the diverse and challenging academic curriculum including multiple sporting opportunities, a variety of clubs, the performing and creative arts, the Duke of Edinburgh Award and a newly introduced musical program to name just a few.
In a program unique to The Riverina Anglican College, year 7 students are given the opportunity to select an instrument to learn as a part of music classes. The college supplies the instrument required – from trumpet to violin – as well as specialised tuition.
Social groups include a running club, computer and coding club, Christian club and Amnesty International Student Group. Whatever a student’s interests, The Riverina Anglican College has something to appeal to all.
The open evening will begin at 5.30pm with a presentation from key members of staff and past and current students. Tours will then be taken through the school. Those in attendance will be catered for by college food technology students, as well as being entertained by the chamber ensemble and the college band.
