Ambulance Wagga unofficially relocated to the purpose-built station on Fernleigh Road in February, leaving behind a building almost one-century old.
The former Johnston Street ambulance station had served Wagga since 1928 but paramedic Darren Rudd said an upgrade was due.
He said the new $4.4-million facility would provide them with a weather-proof, spacious and up-to-date launchpad at a more centralised location.
“The best thing is our response times are better,” Mr Rudd said. “It’s a big positive.”
The complex, comprises of 14 ambulance vehicle bays, a zone office, a fleet maintenance workshop and an advanced training complex.
Mr Rudd said the Health Minister would officially open the station in coming weeks.
