Hosting an inclusive swimming carnival was top priority for Forest Hill organisers, and in turn, kids of all abilities had a splash at Oasis on Tuesday. Novelty events, 25m races and free swims were just as popular as competitive events.

Kids eagerly anticipate Year 6 so they can enter the Ironman or Ironwoman event, involving pool noodles, obstacles and push ups.
Kids got a kick out of seeing a new teacher race against two parents, one who helps out as a gardener, another at the canteen.
“Only half of our kids can swim 50m,” sports coordinator Mel Turner said. “It hit home for some of the parents, how vital the school swimming scheme is, when they see they can’t make the distance.”
