Steve Dyason’s team from Wagga, Sydney and Melbourne, Wild Wild West, had a decisive 28-5 victory over Brendan Watson and Adam Barclay’s Vicious & Delicious, winning the top prize of $1500 in a field of 125 teams.
“The score blew out, it didn’t reflect the closeness of the points,” he said.
It was Dyason’s sixth tournament win on the trot.
“It’s our annual get together, a lot of the guys have played semi-professionally but this is more a social thing,” he said.
“I couldn’t heap enough praise on the committee and community, that’s a big part of why we keep coming back.”
Watson’s grand final appearance was unexpected.
in the quarter final, Watson’s squad had a comeback win to knock out Wagga outfit Sandy Spikers, down 10-1, winning 20-15, and they won the semi-final by one point.
“We never anticipated we’d get as far as we did,” he said.
“We’re a fresh team, one of us has only been playing six months.”
