A man is in Canberra Hospital after he was stabbed in Tumut in the early hours of Saturday.

Tumut police officers were patrolling the local streets when they were flagged down by a resident at around 2.15am.
He reported that a man had arrived at his Quandong Avenue home with a number of stab wounds.
Paramedics were called and they treated the 22-year-old at the scene before he was taken to hospital. He was later flown to Canberra Hospital in a serious condition.
A crime scene was established and police arrested a 35-year-old man a short time later.
He was taken to Tumut police station and is assisting detectives with their inquiries, police said.
