Dewayne Coghill, 34, of Mount Austin and formerly of Leeton, was fined a total of $3511 in Wagga Local Court for driving an unregistered vehicle, negligent driving, stopping in a disabled parking spot, speeding and driving with the drug ice in his bloodstream.
“You got me chief, you know who Iam, I’m Dewayne,” Coghill said one time after giving police a fake name.
He was given a 16-month intensive correction order – which includes 32 hours of community service a month – for the driving offences as well as being disqualified from driving for two years.
And he was placed on a good behaviour bond for taking and driving another person’s car at Yanco in February last year.
Coghill was convicted, but given no other penalty, for a number of other offences, including giving police a fake name and driving an uninsured vehicle.
If Coghill re-offends over the next 16 months he could go straight to prison.
