But lead singer and founding member Mike Love said they are returning tonight to “finish the job.”
The concert was washed out on Saturday due to extreme weather, which left fans disappointed they could not see the event’s main attraction.
Monday was the only night off in their busy schedule and the band has committed to returning to the city to give the fans what they want.
“We were greeted so warmly by the Wagga crowd and our team sweltered through 45 degree heat to set the stage so it is only right that we finish the job,” Love said.
“It’s Wagga Wagga so we want to visit twice.
“I was so happy and pleased to see families and kids at Saturday night’s concert and we just couldn’t disappoint them so we have to come back.”
The Temptations played a short set on Saturday night but it was deemed too unsafe for The Beach Boys to perform as the storm got worse.
Promoter Steve Scherri said he struggled on Saturday night to keep The Beach Boys off the stage.
“They wanted to do their job, they wanted to go on and play,” he said.
“It shows, these legends, the reason they are what they are is they care about their fans.
“These guys do a 150 shows a year, they are in their 70s and they are using their night off to come back to Wagga.”
Gates will open at the Equex Centre on Monday night at 6pm with support act Jess Crossman performing from 6.30pm.
The Beach Boys will take the stage at 7pm and play for two hours, half an hour longer than usual.
Those who can prove they held tickets for Saturday night’s show can come back for free.
Others can buy tickets at Allison’s Music and the Civic Theatre for the discounted price of $55.
