The Blues had too much firepower for Lake Albert and made light work of the run chase courtesy on an unbeaten 54 from 16-year-old Blake Harper.
Opening the batting with Grant Forrest (21), Harper led from the front at Robertson Oval on Sunday.
He hit the winning run with more than six overs remaining after the Bulls were earlier bowls out for 124.
Captain Joel Robinson was thrilled by the teenager’s performance.
“He has been very close to a big score and hopefully that will help his back end of the season,” Robinson said.
“We have always had confidence in him.”
Brayden Ambler also finished unbeaten on 41.
Batting first, Lake Albert got off to a good start at 0-40 before the Blues started to make inroads.
Spinners Mitch Sykes and Ed Perryman both claimed three wickets a piece, as Ambler took two classy catches.
The Bulls were in danger of being bowled out for less than three figures, before Sam McLay (25 not out) and Scott Billington (11) put on 28 for the last wicket to give the Blues something to chase.
Robinson was pleased with how his team recovered with the ball.
“They obviously got off to a pretty good start with the bat but we got a couple of wickets to peg them back down,” he said.
Robinson is hoping the one-day win can be the start of the something big.
