The series gets underway at Charles Sturt University on Sunday with Wagga Triathlon Club’s ‘Come And Tri’ event.
Miller will only compete in a few of the Riverina events and plans to use the triathlons as training for a couple of bigger races later in the year.
“I will probably do a few of the local ones this year, it’s good to support the local triathlons,” Miller said.
“I will use it as a build up for Geelong 70.3 in February and the full ironman in Port Macquarie in May.”
Miller took out the Riverina Tri Series in 2014 and has since gone on to bigger and better things.
Miller has competed at the past two Ironman World Championships in Kona and last year was the first Australian across the finish line in the 35-39 years age group.
Miller plans to take part in the Wagga, Ganmain and Temora triathlons at this stage.
Meantime, entries for Sunday’s Wagga triathlon close at midday on Saturday.
Racing will begin from about 7.30am with junior events, with the open race to start at 9.30am.
The open race consists of a 750 metre swim, 20 kilometre ride and five kilometre run. There is also an enticer event that involves a 200m swim, 10km ride and 2.5km run.
Wagga is the first of six triathlons that make up the Riverina Tri Series.
