WAGGA cricketer Jon Nicoll hit an unbeaten half century on the final day of the Australian Country Championships.
Nicoll finished not out on 55, off 104, as NSW Country cruised to a seven-wicket win against East Asia Pacific at Keira Oval on Wednesday.
Nicoll top scored as NSW Country comfortably chased down East Asia Pacific’s total of 160, with just under 14 overs to spare.
Wagga product Cameron Suidgeest also performed strongly, snaring 3-17 off six overs.
The victory was not enough for the Bush Blues to leapfrog Queensland Country as they finished the championships in second position.
Nicoll finished with an average of 34.28 for the championships.
