James Boetto, Tomas Geaghan, Benjamin Baldwin, Samuel McEnally and Josef Winkler all took to the dry and dusty conditions of Kinross State Forest.
The Wagga boys were all novices to the event and they had to dig deep to make a dent in the field as they rode against national champions.
Boetto and McEnally managed good times and earned national rankings in their age groups ahead of the second round at Armidale later this month.
This comes after nine Wagga juniors travelled to Thredbo to compete at the Cannonball Mountain Bike Festival in December.
Harry Francis, Zac and Jake Barnhill, Will and Doug de Jong, Angus Lodge, Ronan Burke, John Reid and Finn Buckley represented Wagga in all five disciplines.
