ONE of the region’s juiciest events has officially started for another year.

The 67th Annual National Cherry Festival at Young started on Friday with a party in Anderson Park from 5pm featuring live music, Cherry Queen crowning and a massive fireworks display.

An abundance of fruit and popular pick-your-own cherries experiences will be available over the weekend.

Committee chairman Lenore Schiller has invited visitors to embrace all the festival offers.

Also forming part of the event will be a fireworks spectacular, car show, street parade from 4pm to 5pm on Saturday, a Celtic tattoo show and much more.

The Allied Grain Systems Cherry Festival Golf Cup also takes place at Young Golf Club with a two person ambrose on Sunday.

The property, “Clifton” has an open garden from 10.30am to 3pm with croquet on the lawn and two flute ensembles on Sunday.

A Carols by Choirs event at St Mary’s Catholic Church starts at 3pm on Sunday. For more information, go to www.visithilltopsregion.com.au.
