The Bulldogs finished at 7-159 in the eight-wicket loss to Wagga City and Henderson believes it is another step in the right direction.
“It is definitely improvement,” Henderson said.
“We set a plan to be only two down at drinks and we are only two down after 30 overs so it is another box ticked.”
Jackson Weidemann led the way with 36.
Henderson was impressed by how the youngster responded in his first grade return and is looking for more of the same against last year's grand finalists.
Henderson will take the gloves in the clash between the two bottom teams at Wagga Cricket Ground with Josh Staines unavailable while John Hoey returns and Brad Carroll comes in for Jimmy Richards.
The Saints have also made changes with Luke Hipwell, Angus Le Lievre and Sam Nicholls named in an extended side.
