Canberra trainer Gratz Vella helped land a huge betting plunge when the heavily supported three-year-old dominated his rivals in the Wagga Early Learning Centre Maiden Handicap (1000m).
Kanerupt opened at $51 on Thursday and was into $41 after scratchings but his price continued to tumble.
He continued to firm in the market before being sent out a $7 chance.
There was little to be nervous about for those with tickets on the son of Krupt who dominated his rivals to score by 4.3 lengths.
First up from a break, the result was his first placing in four starts.
His previous best a sixth at Wagga on debut in April.
