The RSL’s annual Poppy Appeal – which raises money for veterans’ welfare work – will be launched in Wagga at 11am next Saturday at the Marketplace with a performance by the rural commemorative youth choir.
“People should support the appeal because money raised from it goes to the welfare of our veterans, and the appeal helps people remember and reflect on those who have served, including those who made the supreme sacrifice,” said Wagga RSL sub-branch committee member, Brian Watts.
Artificial poppies will be sold in shopping centres and along the main street by volunteers, including students.
