The Rio Paralympic gold medallist was honoured at an event on Saturday, attended by more than 300 people.
Reardon did his bit to remind the world where Temora is on the map with his record-breaking victory in the T42 men’s 100 metres in Brazil last month.
"Very, very special... it was just very moving."
- Temora mayor Rick Firman
Firman said the 26-year old is as much an inspiration for the way he has carried himself, as his feats on the track.
“It was just very moving,” Firman said.
“You see that young man – there were 320 people there and he signed every single autograph and shook hands and posed for photos in that gracious, genuine way. He did it all in his stride with grace and spirit.”
Reardon showed off his gold medal to a crowd which also included Coolamon Shire mayor John Seymour and Member for Riverina, Michael McCormack.
Wine and champagne had been donated for the event by those inspired by Reardon’s achievements.
The son of Peter and Carol Reardon was presented with a framed pictorial of his achievements since winning the Temora Junior Gift in 2002.
