Seven of the accused people are men and one is a woman.
Charges ranged from intimidation to common assault and inflicting grievous bodily harm.
According to statistics published on the Wagga police Facebook page, 95 per cent of domestic violence victims nationally are women and one in four of personal violence offences are domestic-related.
A woman is most likely to be killed by her male partner in her home, police say. In a 12-month period from November 25, 2014, 103 women were killed in domestic violence incidents across Australia, White Ribbon’s Wagga ambassador, Acting Inspector Phil Malligan, told The Daily Advertiser.
Wagga police respond to between 10 and 16 domestic violence offences every 24 hours.
