The netball and basketball squads will start to take shape as over 100 athletes are put through their paces over the two days.
The netball program will host its trials at the Junee Junction Recreation & Aquatic Centre over the Saturday and Sunday. Around 60 players and umpires from across Southern NSW will complete for the opportunity to a part of the Academy’s junior elite program.
The basketball program will see over 40 aspiring boys and girls trial at Wagga’s Bolton Park Stadium on Sunday following the final camp of the 2015-16 program completed on the Saturday.
Southern Sports Academy chief executive Mark Calverley expects competitive trials over the weekend.
“Both the netball and basketball program nominations have increased significantly from 2015,” Calverley said.
