Police and firefighters attended a Mount Austin address at 3am on Saturday morning, after reports of a white BMW sedan and black Mitsubishi FWD on fire outside the home.
Turvey Park firefighters managed to extinguish the fire which was started around each car’s fuel cap.
Detective Sergeant Phil Malligan said police were still investigating who was behind the destruction and whether there was any link with two cars set alight last weekend.
The new arson attack has prompted an outpouring of angry reactions from residents on Facebook, with one user threatening to ‘name and shame’ who was behind the attack.
But Detective Sergeant Malligan said anyone with information should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
“We certainly don’t promote people relaying information via social media,” he said.
