Wagga Boat Club commodore Mick Henderson expects up to 35 entries, well up on last year’s 22 boats. Henderson will be among eight locals competing in Saturday’s speed bracketed circuit racing.
“There’s racing up to 105 miles per hour and we’ve got plenty of competitors,” Henderson said.
Sunday will see classic boats displayed (from 9am-10.30am) before barefoot waterskiing, wakeboarding and ski racing.
“It’s a chance to come and have a look at what can actually be done on the water,” Henderson said.
It makes for a huge weekend at the Lake with the truck show on the eastern shore on Saturday and a fireworks display in the evening.
Henderson said it’s one event that won’t be washed out and water levels in Lake Albert are suitable after dropping in recent days.
